So, I’ve been absent for a while, haven’t I? It seems like forever since I’ve sat down and written a post, but I promise that it hasn’t all been my fault! (Okay, so maybe the fault is like 75-25, leaning more my way, but still not all my fault.) But that’s all going to change very soon! As soon as I can get my life back together.
Where I’ve been…
For a good chunk of the time, I was where I’ve always been…reading great books. And I swear I’ve read some really good ones lately, like The Girl of Fire and Thorns trilogy by Rae Carson, and Sugar by Deirdre Riordan Hall. The problem wasn’t that there were a lack of books to review and gush over, but rather that I was in a bit of a blogging slump. I felt (and still feel, a bit) that my reviews had gotten stale. And it made me just not want to write them, because nothing was doing these great books justice.
Has anyone else ever felt like that?
Regardless, I kept letting my excuses pile up, and in return, no content was coming out of my Mac. None. Nada. Zilch. And that’s a very large part of why Book Twister Reviews looks sad, abandoned, and alone.
The next reason, and pretty important in my opinion, is that my Cleveland Indians made it into the postseason. And I obviously couldn’t stay away from the games, especially when they made it into the World Series. And granted, it didn’t end as hoped (Curse you, Chicago!) but it was a fun, exhausting couple of weeks. I’ll be honest, blogging was the last thing on my mind.
And as icing on the cake, right as my Indians were blowing a 3-1 lead, my beloved Mac was stolen right out from under me. Let me tell you, Dane Cook makes a B&E sound fun in one of his routines, but being on the victim end of that little charade is not fun. Thankfully, no one was home or hurt while some stranger broke into the house and stole our stuff, but my Mac was lost, and thus my only sound connection to the blogging world.
So where do we go from here…
I’m back, baby!
I’m ready to start blogging again, I think, and I’ve got some plans. I don’t want to reveal those plans, in case I fall back into my old ways of…well, not sticking to my plans, but I have a couple of reviews in mind, as well as a few other post ideas swimming around in my head. I hope y’all will stick with me, forgive me my blogging laziness, and pray that my new Mac stays with me this time!
See you on the flip side!
