Why Twister is a dirty, rott..

Why Twister is a dirty, rotten scoundrel…

Hi, guys! So remember back in the beginning of November when I wrote that post saying I was back, and excited to start blogging again? Yeah, about that… I know, I know. I literally did nothing that I said I was going to do. And I don’t even have an “in my defense” section this time, because my Indians are in the off season, we won’t even discuss the Cleveland Browns, the holidays are over, […]

UPDATE: Where Twister has be..

UPDATE: Where Twister has been…

Hey, y’all! So, I’ve been absent for a while, haven’t I? It seems like forever since I’ve sat down and written a post, but I promise that it hasn’t all been my fault! (Okay, so maybe the fault is like 75-25, leaning more my way, but still not all my fault.) But that’s all going to change very soon! As soon as I can get my life back together. Where I’ve been… For a good […]

New Rating System!

Hello, lovelies! So I’m really excited to write this little note to you all and let you know about my new rating system. Basically, I’m moving from my original system (yay and nay) to a more common “star” system. Or, in my case, little twisters. Really, the system is no different from many other book blogs, one twister being “definitely wouldn’t recommend” to five twisters meaning “CAN I MARRY THIS BOOK?! IS THAT A THING?!” […]

Hello, Readers! Goodbye, Blo..

Hello, all! Long time no blog. And isn’t that seriously the case? After almost a month of nothing going live on this site, I’m finally back and ready to discuss just how annoying a blogging slump can be. Especially when my goal for Book Twister over the last few months was to blog more regularly and with a better variety of content. Talk about a fail. But in all honesty, I hit a wall where […]

Taylor Swift Book Tag

Taylor Swift Book Tag

I’m not sure how I’m just now hearing about The Book Life‘s Taylor Swift Book Tag, but I am. And because I’m so totally on a “Bad Blood” kick at the moment, I feel like it would be a travesty against T-Swift herself if I didn’t participate. So, without further ado… We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together A Book/Series That I Was Pretty Sure I Was In Love With, But Then Wanted To Break […]

My Favorite Shel Silverstein..

My Favorite Shel Silverstein Quotes

Shel Silverstein was the kind of author that inspired me. He taught me to have an appreciation for poetry when I was young, before I forgot it somewhere between dissections of meter and hidden meanings. Silverstein showed love and kindness through his words, giving children small lessons of hope, acceptance, and courage before they even knew how important having these things were. And today, Silverstein can remind people of any age, but especially me, why […]

True (Book) Confessions: I&#..

True (Book) Confessions: I’ve fallen in love with Morgan Matson

In 99.9 percent of my book reading adventures, I don’t get attached to an author. Sure, I enjoy his or her work, and can find a hundred different reasons as to why the book he or she has written must be read by everyone if I really enjoy it, but I don’t get attached. And by that I mean I will not go out and read every book he or she has ever written just […]

Why I changed my mind about ..

For the longest time, I was one of those people who called listening to an audiobook “fake reading.” I didn’t think that it was possible for someone to listen to an entire novel and get the same imagery and sense of immersion as someone who could read each word directly.  But then, I spent the last two work days eagerly devouring A Wicked Thing by Rhiannon Thomas via Audible (my first audiobook, I should add) […]

How have I never participate..

How have I never participated in the Redditgifts Book Exchange until this year?!

When my BFF/sister from another mister/future nursing home roommate first introduced me to the idea of Redditgifts, I was admittedly nervous about the whole thing. What if I don’t buy the right gift? What if I’m too cheap? What if, what it, what if. Well, I’m here to say that I’m so glad I started participating, because it led me to the Redditgifts book exchange, which is probably the happiest I’ve been with a book haul in […]

When words and songs collide..

When words and songs collide: Why I love novels with soundtracks

I love reading. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have this blog and I definitely wouldn’t have an entire room in my home dedicated to giving my books a loving place to rest that isn’t my bedroom floor. But something else I love doing is listening to music. And more specifically, playlists of music that people have put together that fit a certain theme, or time in their life, or story. Combine these playlists with a […]
